Paughco Rigid Frame for 1970-1984 Yamaha XS-650 Engines

Old school cool comes in all shapes and sizes, and Mr Luckys has teamed up with Paughco to design and produce a vintage inspired rigid frame that accepts a 1970-1984 XS 650 Yamaha powerplant. These engines/donor bikes are abundant, cheap, and have that retro styling reminiscent of early Triumphs/BSA’s that looks oh-so sweet!

Patterned after a straight leg rigid HD frame and featuring 0 degree backbone stretch, 0 degree downtube stretch and a gooseneck styled neck with 30 degree rake. Wheelbase when assembled using a stock length front end is 64" measured center to center distance between the front & rear axles, 87" overall assembled length, and bike has a low to the ground seating position that feels just right! 

Frame constructed of heavy-duty 1 1/2 in. steel front downtube & backbone, 1 1/8 in. side rails, all drawn over mandrel for smooth, clean bends. Mig welded for a stronger weld without all the heat, and fully welded in a secure fixture keeping the frame straight and lined up perfectly during welding. Heavy duty threaded brackets for mounting mid-controls & footpegs are welded to the bottom frame rails on each side at the base of the center downtube. 6 motor mount plates for securing the engine to the 3 lower frame mounts are included as shown on the accompanying image. (Use your stock Yamaha upper motor mount).

Accessories: Choose either neck cups #ML139FCY to mount stock 1971-82 OEM Yamaha front ends (will not work with 1970 & 1983-84 model front ends), wheel and brake as we did on our “Mr Luckys” XS-650 Bobber. Or, neck cups #ML139FCH to run HD style front ends with 1" stems as with our springer front end in the El Loco XS650 Rolling Chassis kit #ELROLLER.

When purchasing our frame we recommend using Jiffy Stand Kit #VT27-0133, Battery Box Kit #BK0003 for use with XS650 Yamaha sized battery, and our newly released Oil Tank styled electrical box #BK002.

You can run your stock OEM Yamaha rear wheel and axle by using the 2 axle spacers/reducers that come with the frame. (shown in the image with the 6 lower motor mount plates). The rear axle plate holes are 13/16", allowing you to also run an HD rear wheel with 3/4"/20mm axle by ordering #ML26BK Axle Kit. 

We also offer custom sprockets for use with HD 5-hole bolt pattern wheels that are geared to the XS650 Yamaha engine. Sprockets available in 32 and 34 (stock) Tooth sizes; Order #KS32TRS  for 32 Tooth or #KS34TRS for 34Tooth. ((XS650 Yamaha engines use a 530 rear drive chain, same as HD's).

Frame comes with Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO) for registration when bike is completed. Manufactured exclusively for Mr Luckys by Paughco up in Carson City, NV.
