Dedicated to all things old school, and founded on the belief that it’s the creative expression, not the dollars invested that gives a bike its soul, Ed “Mr Lucky” Martin and the crew here at Mr Luckys proudly present our take on retro cool!
For some background, Ed grew up as a missionary’s kid in Japan during the 50’s/early 60’s, with their transportation an old army Rikuo (Japanese version of an HD) with sidecar. Built his first bike around 13 using parts from a motorcycle junkyard a Japanese buddy’s dad owned. At 16 moved back to the U.S., and a year later had saved enough to buy a ‘48 Panhead for $500. “First thing I wanted to do was “bob” it, and that’s when the custom bug bit me” Ed says.
Spending a lifetime in the motorcycle industry with gigs owning/operating an HD franchise in the 70’s, a stint with Drag in the 80’s, living in Japan again in the 90’s establishing Custom Chrome’s Japanese dealer base, Chrome Specialties prez in the early 2000’s and, most recently, resurrecting the Jammer brand, Ed’s got a unique, global perspective on what old school cool is all about.
Teaming up with industry cronies and longtime associates around the world, we’ve put together a righteous collection of old school essentials, coupled with brand new Mr Luckys originals you won’t find anywhere else!
You can’t buy a ‘48 Pan for $500 anymore, but old school cool comes in all shapes, sizes and budgets. Taking inspiration from the boys bringing their creations to the Smoke Out rallies, and designer friends in Japan, we’ve developed a vintage inspired rigid frame that accepts XS 650 Yamaha powerplants. Sheet metal, accessories and complete Rolling Chassis kits are available as well. Now, you can build your old school dream ride….for under $5,000!
Headquartered in Houston, TX, Mr Luckys is well equipped to offer worldwide distribution and access to one of the coolest collections of old school goodies anywhere!
Cool new stuff will be added to our site all the time, so keep checking back. And, if you have a spare minute drop us a line at info@mrluckys.biz and let us know how we’re doing; what other parts you’d like to see us develop; a new part you’ve designed you’d like Mr Luckys to promote or, just send a picture of your ride to share with others on our site.
We’ll be attending old school events around the country, so when you spot us come over, say “Hi”, and check out our custom XS 650 builds, the El Loco rolling chassis kit, and the lineup of retro goodies we proudly call……...“Nuthin’ but the Cool Stuff!”
See ya down the Road!
